Stalin's Bunker

During WWII Stalin built multiple alternate command posts on the outskirts of Moscow. This particular bunker was built in the late 30's. The construction was hidden like most secret military building by building a civilian structure over top to hide the construction going on underground. In this case a huge sports complex that would hold 200,000 spectators.

The structure housed Stalin's office, large conference room with stage (with acoustics so good you can hear a whisper) and a dinning facility. The two most impressive parts that we were not able to see but where told about were the 17 km road running under the city of Moscow, it stretches from the Kremlin to the bunker. The second is the storage facility that housed a full tank battalion plus Stalin's own private tank. The battalion was to escort Stalin out of the city if it was ever overrun.
