Home for the holidays

It has been a while since we last posted. So we are going back, way back to Christmas. John and I were lucky to get to go home for three weeks over the holiday and spend time with family and friends in both Illinois and Idaho.

The highlights of our trip were

Of course seeing the munchkins Grant and Hannah, although skype has made it easier, it doesn't compare to hanging out with them and having fun. We made cookies, shot some guns and opened gifts. As always they were entertaining and brought smiles to our faces.

Checking out some property to build a house! YEAH! John was really happy to know that he would be able to see both his in-laws and brother-in-laws house while shooting ducks from the front porch!!!

John was able to get in some duck hunting (aka bird watching) with his dad.

I went ice skating for the first time ever and let's just say graceful is not my middle name.
We were blessed with a visit from two of my best friends in the whole world, Kitty and Bonnie made the trip from California and Utah for New Years in Idaho. It was great to see them!

John and his dad built the biggest pallet bonfire yet for the annual Reese New Year's Eve party, it was at least 20ft high. We are happy to report no one was injured or arrested!

Of course those are just a few of the highlights. The trip itself was a highlight for John especially having not been home since February. We are looking forward to the time when family is just around the corner and the visits are more than once every 6 months.
